Basic Function:
The\nResearch Assistant will assist investigators from the Philadelphia College of\nOsteopathic Medicines (PCOM) School of Professional and Applied Psychology\n(Clinical Department) on a four-year observational study of outcomes in\npatients with chronic pain and opioid use disorder initiating medical cannabis\ntherapy. Funding of this position is contingent upon the continued\nfunding of the grant/contract.

Duties/essential\nfunctions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Recruit, consent and screen study participants
Work with providers and staff to identify potential participants
Obtain study-related data from participant medical records
Schedule study visits
Collect study-related surveys and assessments
Pay participants according to the study protocol
Enter data
Conduct literature reviews
Prepare materials for submission to external funding sources
Prepare materials for IRB review
Maintain study databases and participant tracking systems
Request or acquire equipment, surveys or supplies necessary for the project
Attend project meetings
Attend site visits and other meetings as necessary
Prepare reports for study investigators and funders
Participate in study-related peer-reviewed publications
Monitor the project budget
Perform related responsibilities as required.

Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelors degree in psychology, social\nwork, public health or a related field and one-year of undergraduate or\nprofessional research experience, or an equivalent combination of experience,\neducation and training.
Note: An approved CAS Exception is required for anyone\nwho is charged to a federal grant or contract under this job code.

Knowledge Of: Research Protocols

Working Conditions /\nPhysical Requirements:
Mild physical work: Incumbent may be required to travel from\nbuilding to building frequently.

Additional Information: A\nminimum two-year commitment is preferred.

Must pass a background check.
